About workshop
Chernobyl History Workshop started its work in April 2012 in Kharkiv as a joint project of the International Educational Centre, Dortmund (IBB Dortmund), the German-Ukrainian partnership network and Kharkiv Municipal Public Organization “Chernobyl Union”.
The workshop is a consulting, research and educational center on the basis of which the legal assistance and social support are provided for people suffered because of the Chernobyl catastrophe. Chernobyl history workshop organizes meetings, theme exhibitions, contests and other significant events as well.
Chernobyl History Workshop:
- as a consulting centre, it provides a legal assistance and support in solving social problems for people suffered because of the accident on Chernobyl nuclear power station;
- as a partnership organization, it implements different social projects and assists in joining of efforts of different public organizations with the aim of the joint work on strengthening of social dialogue in the society and quality improvement of living for exposed population groups, to which we can relate people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, large families;
- as a centre of European culture of memory, it preserves the memories of the participants of breakdown elimination on Chernobyl nuclear power station, the evacuated and displaced people from the disposal area; organizes meetings where young people have an opportunity to learn about those tragic events and their consequences firsthand;
- as an educational center, it conducts different seminars and trainings directed to the development of the internal potential of participants.
